      Client Description

      A London and Home Counties based refurbishment company specialising in providing a professional service in the gap between the large national and small local contractors. Their experience covers education, heritage, residential, public buildings and commercial.

       

      Why did they need our help?

      They originally had an in house bid writer, but they found they weren’t getting the wins, their tender responses weren’t as impactful as they could be and post Covid and Brexit, they needed to refresh their approach to remain competitive.

       

      Services Provided – meeting their needs

      With several personnel involved with the company of differing experience and availability, it was agreed who would be prime contacts and contributors to work with on the bids going forward. Using the appropriate expertise of specific people, it would be easier to ‘pick their brains’ and create bespoke responses for the tenders they wished to go for. We provided a dedicated bid manager who liaised with the refurbishment company, providing timelines, requirements and attended progress meetings via Zoom, building the relationship from scratch.

      This single point of contact (supported internally by fellow bid writers where required) means that any enquiries, updates or amendments are handled promptly. We discussed their strengths and weaknesses, reviewed previous tenders and suggested areas where more specific and tailored output would be more favourable for their tender applications, including the need to keep case studies and examples of relevant experience updated.

       

      Outcome of our Work

      We have developed a smoother process for tenders where Bid & Tender complete all compliance questionnaires and general responses, and collaborate with the client to provide the bespoke technical questions ensuring the company is seen in its best light. This is a very positive working relationship and just before Christmas we were delighted to hear that they had been awarded a £1m+ tender we worked on together. Here’s to many more positive results in 2023!
