HS2 – for SME’s not just large corporations.
Are you getting the most out of your search? Are you prepared and registered?
Most people will be aware of the High Speed rail link that by 2026 will connect 8 of 10 of the UK’s largest Cities, however few know the opportunities available for SME’s during the process. There have already been a number of supply chain opportunities through larger contracts given out to SME’s for professional and business services, production and marketing and data acquirement.
One of the big promises of HS2 is the opportunities, employment and social value it will bring to the areas it is planned to go through but with research showing that very few potential service providers registered within the local areas, there are opportunities going begging.
A large number of available Supply Chain opportunities are posted on CompeteFor, for all types of industries across the whole country, not just construction or engineering. These opportunities including Catering, Marketing Services and Tree Surveying Contracts, to name a few.
The construction part of the project for the South West and Buckinghamshire is Eiffage Kier. They have simplified the bidding process by joining forces with Constructionline, so once you are registered and have the correct accreditations the PQQ stage will be eliminated.
What can you do?
- Get yourself registered on CompeteFor – its free to do but you have to be registered to be able to bid for any of the HS2 opportunities – https://www.competefor.com/
- Get registered with Constructionline – for contracts with Effiage Kier you must be registered and have the correct accreditation to be eligible to bid. https://www.constructionline.co.uk/eiffage-kier/
